The lawyer of simple1 is not correct. INA specifically has the language for counting all immigrants (including spouses and children) towards numerical limits, and, we have been working to include provisions to eliminate counting depents towards numerical limits. Doing such extra effort as mentioned in the first post of the thread is not going to be helpful. When there is a bill we should be pushing towards not counting dependents and it is more straightforward. That will take care of the backlog issues to some extent. Admin fixes do not change laws, so admin fix for this is not possible as some suggested

I think both Attorney and we will get the receipts. By the way it may be too early to ask but can't control it .. any one got FP notice or EAD's?
Some months back two of my friends got EAD,FP Notice immediately.
If your case is at Texas you can dream about it. You will get FP in a month. Last I heard was EAD in 6 weeks. But you never know....:)

And guys..lets not fight or critisize each other...initiatives like this are voluntary..if u are convinced, welcome aboard, if not, you are more than welcome to watch it from a distance.
Everyone here is mature enough to know what is right and wrong for them and we should respect it regardless of whether they are in favor of this initiative or not...
For now..we are moving forward...and that's what counts at the end of the day.

My vote goes for DC on 7/14. Many people like me might have already used their time off recently to get a medical exam and paperwork for I-485. I live in Baltimore area and simply cannot make it to DC on a weekday. If I lose my job I won't get a green card - as simple as that.
If there are others in Baltimore area who would like to join the action please don't hesitate to contact me. We could car pool and get together to make signs. I'll also try to gather some friends, although it might be tough on a short notice - almost everyone is on vacation.

Well there is a lot of media attention already. I've been talking to so many reporters and there was a huge interest in the event.
Tomorrow, there will be a bunch of media people at USCIS to talk about this, yet in the entire DC area, only nixstor is available to go to USCIS.
How can we expect major media to cover us when we are not willing to participate in something that is of benefit to us?

I am definetly stressed about this,thats true, but i am not scared because of all the info i gathered, I know even they do file a suit, I will be on the winning side. though i have option to go directly to DOL or USCIS and can show all the proofs i have regarding the deductions they have made, i haven't made till today just because of the kind of relationship we had earlier and also concerned about other h1bs who r with the company right now. I dont want their GC's to be in jeopardy. but if employer doesn't make the effort from his side, and pulls the thread till it breaks, i can't help it.

I agree with you on the fact that this is extremely frustrating. Believe me I can feel your pain. However all I am saying is, put your faith in the IV core for a more long term solution, where ALL EB categories benefit. This is a **NOT** a quick strike mission as we have seen for the past 4 years or more. The system is HORRIBLY broken. You cant try and put a bandaid on a foot long laceration. I am sure the idea of a quick fix appeals to a lot of people and I dont blame them either. Everyone on here wants to get their GC and get this mess over with.
I have full faith in the IV core and I know they are working on it as we speak... but Eb3_Nepa we cannot let our guard down against USCIS and I know very well that this is a long term mission.. but we can still do some quick strikes and weaken the enemy before the kill... or would u rather just wait another 3-4 years before the final kill ??

Anyways.. I am with the core and will always support whatever they do, because it will be good for the community as a whole.

The relief for EB3 comes because a lot of EB2's/EB1's will be gone from the quota. So, if the queue is smaller, you get it faster. The way I look at it, we want the queue to be smaller.

Also, if you have an advanced degree from an acredited university outside US AND have been working for 3 years in a related field, you will also be exempt from the cap regardless of whether you are applying/have applied in EB2 or EB3 (believe me...you would think that people with advanced degrees would have applied in EB2...but there are cases where people have had to apply in EB3 category even with an advanced degree).

Did anyone get their physical Cards without getting CPO message ?
I have recd the I-797C Approval notice on the 11th but I have not recd the physical cards as yet. BTW I did not get any welcome e-mail or CPO mail - I directly got 485 Approval e-mail and that is all.

My attorney asked just to give one cheque for $745 each for myself and my spouse for I-485, I -131 and I-765. Our applications will be filed today.
