My question is - has anobdy got their cards without getting the CPO e-mail - I have recd the approval notice on 11th in the mail - but I have yet to get the cards also I did not get the CPO e-mail:confused:
I was approved on 8-12-08, received approval letter too.

I may sound some what negative here but I am not trying to diminish the IV plat form for all the folks here.Yes, it is just "about us" only... what "IV core" did so far is vague....flower campaign and this current FOIA requests started randomly by the individuals thinking collectively.... I don't think it is started by IV core team as an "ACTION" item in the first place.

11th and 12th were added later because by Saturday evening when the core team decided to support this campaign, we weren't entirely sure if delivery on the 10th was still possible.
However, majority of flowers are going to be delivered on the 10th so I wanted to keep the focus on that single date.
If you want to go ahead with co-ordinating the actual sending then please go ahead - I think it will be very helpful.
The emails should be sent from the mediacontact email address (attach the pdf - Subject should be "Press Release" with a two line intro). I can compile the list of emails from some of the postings here in IV. Make sure that you Bcc it.
As for the faxes, they can be sent from the local Staples. However, someone has to get those numbers first. Anyone here who can do that? Does IV have a list of fax numbers (Especially those in Washington DC)?
Also, I think we should include a phone number in the media contact. Someone here who can represent us. Anyone used to handling the media.

For various reasons, I got my greencard 14 years after entering this country and 14years after getting my Ph.D. Life throws up challenges and we have to face them with courage.

Story of my life. I complain about delay with my application. Someone joins me and tells me they are in the same boat and the very next day that someone leaves the boat and jumps into "greener" pastures. Everyone is leaving the boat and I seem to be left out :(

I hope many people will contribute when the days are close. The sad part is that they do not realize that IV needs to know the collection amount details in advance to organize a mega event.

I am sorry to tell you that if you are not a voter and you do not clarify that at the time you call or fax congressmen, your request is practically useless. Don't believe if others tell you otherwise.
I made phone calls to all (10 + 2) successfully left messages for 8 but the following 4 had issues,
Sen. Cornyn's and Sen. McConnell's office phone systems do not direct you to a voicemail system (I was calling after office hours so I couldnt speak to someone either), and,
I get a 'voicemail machine full' message from the Reid and Martinez offices.
Wonder if anyone else has faced the same problem.
Will try those 4 again tomorrow

I'm confused!
I am July 2nd filer from last year. I did receive a FP notice in Oct 2007 but couldn't go for it. I sent a letter asking for another date but TSC..So go figure!
Now my FP is not done and I am current next month.
My company does only paper based filing for EAD. (Is e-filing costly?)
Will I not get any FP notice again?
I have tried calling TSC and no response after putting a SR. I tried dropping in at an ASC here and they didn't take my FP either..
Does paper based filing not trigger FP? Is it slower?
FP is mainly for E-filing folks, paper filers need not take FP.

I apologize if the post sounded discouraging / instigating to members. I do completely support IV team, particularly because it is a collective decision made by a dedicated group which certainly would be much more wise than what I think with my limited awareness on this whole issue. Yes indeed as somebody pointed out--if the backlog is removed completely there would not be a need for H1b 3 year renewal.

Interesting... looks like they set up some kind of automatic system ... I got an email as well for "Card production ordered" for me and my spouse a few minutes back... unfortunately it is not for GC but EAD...

being anguished about the situation of not getting receipts and even worse - not being able to track or check status...I emailed the attorney and asked if he could check for encashed checks or if their firm is getting july 2nd receipts...
His response :
"We have just started getting receipts for some of the June applications we sent. I am surprised that July filers are already getting their receipts and somehow find it hard to beleive thats the case. Anyhow we have no updates on ur case."

depression is created by anxiety and hopelessness.
I am also like many others, suffering from GC related depression. After reading the posts, now I feel more comfortable that I am not alone:)
Two steps I wish to take: (1) Not to think about getting GC any more. Whether I am anxious or not, it will take its own time and let me develop the habit of patiently waiting (2) Have a back-up plan ready.

at some month before OCT 2007 the dates would become unavailable.
what would happen at that time?
say your case was received by USCIS and they have not issued FP notices.
what if they issued FP notices but not issued EAD and/or AP.
would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)
any ideas?
