Hey Guys ,
I am EB2 - July 3rd 9:03 AM - R WIllialms - Nothing received yet ..
I called up yesterday and the lady on the phone tells me that we need to wait 90 BUSINESS days before we can raise a service ticket etc - Which is like 4 months nearly - November 2nd.
Anyone else got a similar response ?
To my knowledge its not business days, its 90 calendar days.

having been in the US since 2001, losing out my LC/PD to the dot-com bust and finally ending up with a PD of 2006, I second that. PD should be based on number of years of experience or years of stay in the US or amount of taxes paid till now or something like that.
In any case what we WANT is very different from what we usually get from this immigration system and there are bigger more important battles for IV to fight. Look, if there is no retrogression PD almost does not matter!! THATS the right fix. END RETROGRESSION!
Getting laid off from work is not someother's problem. Layoffs is common phenomenon and nothing can be done about that. So how can you tie that to the green card??

No reason to loose energy. Enjoy what you have and make the best out of it. Agree, this should be the way everybody lives his/her life. While you have little control of it, just enjoy your time as you usually do. Eat your favorite food, love your love, don't let anything behind because of this issue.

If that is your personal opinion, I'd respect that. If you are a member of IV core team, let me know because I will call to to have a conversation with you.
People, the bill is called "Comprehensive Immigration Reform". It can only be comprehensive if it takes into account the legal population and the illegal population. This bill could not come at a better time for us with the mid-term elections coming up. The Executive Branch of Government is pressuring for passage of this legislation. It will be a huge issue for the mid-term elections. The Republican House is in a no win situation, passage means amnesty (their words, not mine) and non-passage makes them look ineffective. For now all we can do is sit back and wait and watch. It will take the majority of the house spin doctors a while to figure out how to proceed with maximum benefit for the Republican Party. This is the nature of politics.
For a little entertainment, we can always predict next months visa bulletin! (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

I git the I-485 Approval mail on 8/4/08 - but I have not recd any CPO mail or welcome PR mail - nor have I recd the notices in the mail -should Itake Infopass appt ?

Sign the agreement get the GC and use the same agreement to sue the employer ....

Thanks for the reply, Do you mean proceed with corp-to-corp between current Y(employer) and Prior-employer X(by paying h1b tranfer fee). Sign the Agreement with Employer X to continue GC and then sue them ? ?hmmm... interesting.
Before accepting an Employement with company X, if there would have been an agreement stating they will sponsor my green card (atleast the paperwork), that would have helped me.. hard luck..

Ead renewal applied.paper filed at TSC.uscis received date is 07/03.my pd is eb3 jan 2007.EAD approved on 08/14. i still got for only 1 year and still lost one month on the ead.i am still using h1 and i waited for that 2 year ead announcement and i still got for 1 year.i filed 485 with old fees and now more money lost....i am so pissed off :mad:....is any one in the same boat...i do not know if any thing can be done at this point.....

Has the issue of waiting times before being eligible to apply for citizenship been raised at all by Immigration Voice?? Currently one needs to wait for 5 years after being granted permanent status to be eligible to apply for citizenship. Now, considering the current backlog and the fact that Congress has mandated processing times to be much less than what we are experiencing, has the issue of getting credit for the lost backlog years in the citizenship process been raised? As I explained it to a friend the other day: This is becoming a retirement program - over 5 years at labor cert + another 4 at USCIS + 5 years waiting period + 3 years citizenship process = 0ver 17 years before we can cast a vote in this nation to which we contribute economically, intellectually, and socially. Not to forget that we are the ones doing things by the book and following the law on immigration.

Applied for EAD (paper based) on July 18, 2008. I-765 approved 08/14. Received the cards in the mail today valid for upto Aug 2010. Losing 2 months since previous EAD was valid for upto 10/18.
Surprisingly the application asked for 2-yr cards if the I-140 petition is approved. As far as I know, my petition is still pending approval at TSC. No LUDs or email updates or anything of the kind. Maybe I should check whether this means an impending I-140 approval or if it's in "approvable state".
My category is EB3 - March 2004.
Good luck to all for their respective approvals.
